Michael Burstein is an associate attorney with Peretz & Associates who practices in the areas of employment discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, human rights, civil rights, wage and hour, and landlord-tenant law. Mr. Burstein also has significant policy analysis and negotiation experience.
After graduating from U.C. Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 2006, Mr. Burstein worked in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the diplomatic organization the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), and then later with a small non-profit in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Mr. Burstein has also later worked with a diverse range of organizations ranging from the International Accountability Project to the ACLU to the Rainforest Action Network to the European Roma Rights Center.
Mr. Burstein was thrilled to join Peretz & Associates in 2009 because he felt that their brand of aggressive advocacy and deep ethical commitment was the perfect way for him to apply his passion for human rights to domestic law. Mr. Burstein is a member of the State Bar of California, the California Employment Lawyers Association, and is qualified to represent clients in California state and federal courts.
